Wednesday 3rd October
Tim took Shanni, Pat and his boys out on the boat for a hunting expedition.
I was rather pleased to have a quiet day with just Mahalia at home.
I had only 2 days to recover from town and get ready to leave again.
After Tim left I was doing some stuff in the study and was about to finish and go hop in the spa with my book and enjoy a peaceful soak before I got stuck into the day.
Then all of a sudden Mandy breezed through the door.
She had driven down with 3 of the kids.
I remembered Tim had mentioned she was coming but didn't really know when so it was rather a surprise to see her.
The children wanted to hang out with Mahalia while Mandy went out to work with Noel for a few hours.
They hadn't been there long when Mahalia came back inside holding her rabbit.
She was sobbing.
The dog had somehow opened the cage and killed her rabbit.
It was all very awful.
The dog was shut away in disgrace.
After she had cried a while I popped Zoe into a box and suggested she went out with the kids and fed the lamb.
Once they found the lamb it came back with them for a visit!

Crazy critter was chasing Mo around the living room!

When they came back in she was a lot better and was happy to accept Mandy's proposal of a new rabbit - as long as it was a mini lop!
The children all headed off around to see Olly.
Noel came in a picked up Mandy.
I took the chance of finally being all alone and hopped in the spa, then got myself dressed and got on with my day.
I carried all the boxes of curriculum I had inadvertently left behind last week and loaded it into the Terrano.
Got the washing done and then started repacking.
When the children arrived back they had lunch and then Mahalia decided she was ready to bury her rabbit.
Shania helped her.
They buried in in the rock garden and made a lovely area decorated with driftwood.
The hunters returned mid arvo.
They didn't get anything - just came home tired.
Noel & Mandy didn't arrive back until much later.
Noel took Perry back to Elaine Bay in the boat and Mandy drove back with the girls.
The day had turned quite fiesty.
I didn't envy them all being out on the water.

So sad about the baby bird and the rabbit. The little lamb is so cute!
